The Comtesse is a beautiful Kerman rug and is hand knotted and woven from wool. She was woven in the Iran and has a nice, low pile, that is easy to clean up but is still soft underfoot. Note, the Comtesse has age appropriate wear. She has some areas of missing pile throughout, some missing fringe, and one quarter size spot that was not removed during cleaning. She has had past dye run. She is being sold as is, and is ready to give another few decades of life. She has no holes or tears.
This rug measures approximately 9’10x15’2 and has a very classic palette of pink, French blue and green with a floral pattern. The Comtesse is a high quality rug and is considered one of the best of Persian rugs. She has the wear and patina appropriate for her age.
